Benefits
CampusCare is a self-funded student health benefit plan that works like a traditional HMO plan. CampusCare works in conjunction with the Student Health Service Fee to provide student at UIC comprehensive health benefits. Information regarding the benefits provided by CampusCare can be found here.
Dental Benefits
CampusCare members are enrolled in discount vision & dental programs run through a third party company, United Health Programs. This program offers a discount at vision & dental providers that in-network with United Health Programs. More information regarding this can be found here for vision and here for dental.
Coverage dates
CampusCare is a semester based program. Click here for information regarding coverage dates.
CampusCare ID Card
Students can use their i-Card at UI Health. Members can also download and print their CampusCare ID card from the CampusCare portal. Instructions for downloading and printing your CampusCare ID card can be found here.
Primary Care
Members should call their CampusCare Primary Care Provider’s office to schedule non-emergency care.
CampusCare as secondary insurance
CampusCare is secondary to all other insurance companies except Medicaid. More information can be found here.
Reinstatement
We allow currently registered students to reinstate into CampusCare at any time by submitting an electronic reinstatement request via our portal. If a student reinstates after the established deadline date, their effective date of coverage is the date the reinstatement form is submitted. Dependents
Members can add spouses, civil union partners and eligible children to their CampusCare coverage for an additional fee. More information regarding add dependents can be found here.
Adding Dependents
During the open enrollment period, or after a qualifying life event, students can submit a dependent add request via the CampusCare portal and upload the required documentation prior to the open enrollment period deadline date. Dependents are automatically carried over each semester that a member is registered for courses unless a drop dependent request is submitted via the CampusCare portal prior to the deadline date for the semester. Eligiblity
Eligible students include all registered Undergraduate, Graduate, and Health Professional students taking at least one class that charges them with tuition and mandatory fees. Eligible fellows working under a T/32, F/32, T/42, T/76, or D43 grant at UIC are also eligible for CampusCare (to verify if you are eligible please contact your program administrator). To verify if you are a member, students can view the CampusCare charge by going to their student account bill (E-Bill). If you are not charged with the CampusCare Fee you are not a member of CampusCare. Information regarding eligibility can be found here.
What fi I Cancel or Withdraw for the Term?
Waiving CampusCare
Students can submit a waiver via our website prior to the deadline date for the semester. Waivers are good for one academic year: Fall, Spring & Summer, in that order. All waivers must be resubmitted each academic year. Click here for information regarding waiving CampusCare.

Summer Coverage
Students that are NOT taking summer classes or are graduating, and have CampusCare coverage for the Spring term of that academic year, are able to continue CampusCare coverage through the Summer by completing and submitting a Summer Continuation Form by the Enrollment Period Deadline Date.
